The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has recently announced their 15-man squad for the first three matches of the upcoming Vijay Hazare trophy, starting September 19. In the previous season, Delhi won four out of their first six matches and progressed to the quarterfinal, but lost to Andhra Pradesh by a margin of six wickets in a rain-curtailed encounter at Palam.
This time around, they are placed in Elite Group B along with Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Hyderabad, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Saurashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Chattisgarh. Their first match is against Saurashtra at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi on September 20. In the meantime, Gautam Gambhir, the 36-year-old top order batsman has been named as the captain of the team.
