The ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy has reached its conclusive stages now as the first semi-final between Mumbai and Hyderabad is being played in Bengaluru. Mumbai has been bolstered with the inclusion of the Indian internationals like Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw in the team. Not surprisingly, they are currently dominating the game. But during the first innings, Rohit Sharma claimed a questionable catch to send back Bavanaka Sandeep which didn’t please the batsman.
The incident happened in the 19th over of the innings when the left-arm spinner Shams Mulani was bowling. Sandeep, also the left-handed batsman, looked to cut the short-pitched delivery which was a little closer to his body and ended up edging it to the slip fielder Rohit.
The ball dipped on him even as Rohit got his hands under the ball and quickly threw it in the air. He claimed the catch and started the celebrations along with his teammates. The batsman stood his ground though which made the on-field umpires go to the third umpire to make the final decision. The replays weren’t conclusive enough if the ball was grassed for a split second or Rohit Sharma’s fingers were under it.
The fact that the soft signal was given out, even the TV umpire had to go with it as he didn’t have enough evidence to overturn the decision.

Hyderabad recover after early blows
As far as the action in the middle is concerned, Rohit Rayadu slammed a century for his team and bailed them out of the trouble after Hyderabad opted to bat first. All the other top-order batsman failed to convert the starts which had left them reeling at 123/6 in the 35th over. But Rohit played patiently and didn’t throw his wicket away only to launch an assault on the Mumbai bowlers in the death overs.
