Day three of Vijay Hazare saw a lot of fireworks. The man leading those fireworks was the newest hero of India, Kedar Jadhav. He scored a magnificent century as Maharashtra absolutely battered Delhi. The man in form missed out on a century a day before but capitalised on this one. Delhi bowled miserably and Maharashtra took advantage of it. They scored a massive 365 runs in their fifty overs. Kedar scored 113 in just 64 deliveries. He hit eleven fours and eight massive sixes to get there. Naushad Shaikh was another batsman who scored a quickfire 63 off just 46 deliveries.
Delhi’s response was poor. They started well as Gambhir and Dhawan put up a fifty run stand but the middle order did not turn up for them today. They were bowled out for a 172 as Gambhir scored a half century. Jagdish Zope starred for Maharashtra in the bowling department. He snatched a five-for giving away just 19 runs. Maharashtra eventually won by 195 runs and reached the top of the table in Group B while Delhi linger at the bottom.
Baroda got better of Punjab as they beat them comprehensively by 75 runs. Baroda were gritty in their batting performance as Krunal Pandya and Aditya Waghmode scored steady half centuries. The other Pandya scored 78 runs in 105 deliveries hitting 9 fours in the process. He helped Baroda to a commendable score leaving Punjab 250 to win. Yuvraj-less Punjab were dismal in their batting performance. None of the batsmen got going except Gurkeerat Mann as they were bowled out for 174 handing Baroda a 75 run victory.
Madhya Pradesh comprehensively defeated Mumbai during the third round of Vijay Hazare trophy. They beat Mumbai by 80 runs. Madhya Pradesh were nervy in their batting performance as they barely got to 214. Mumbai were poorer as they lost all their wickets for a mere 134. Dhaliwal scored a half century for MP while there was not even a thirty from a Mumbai player. Chandrakant Sakure grabbed a five-for for MP as they moved up to second.
