Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has made a bold prediction on ace Indian opener Rohit Sharma. Rohit recently became the first cricketer to score three double tons in the ODI history of the game. In the Mohali ODI against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma was at his brutal best. An absolute carnage was on the cards for the islanders as they faced the wrath of the Indian stand-in skipper.
Rohit remained unbeaten on 208 as he became the second captain to score a double ton in ODI cricket. Now, former cricketer Vinod Kambli has made a bold statement hailing the knock of Rohit. In his most recent social media update, Kambli showered praises on the Indian opener.
He noted that it was an absolute slaughter of the bowlers. In fact, he wrote the word ‘slaughter’ thrice in his tweet to indicate the three double tons that Rohit Sharma has hit in ODI cricket. He went on to add to his tweet predicting that soon Rohit will become the first cricketer to score a triple ton in ODIs as well. He further asked his fans and the followers to respond whether they agree with him or not.
Here is the tweet:
“@ImRo45 .slaughter,slaughter,slaughter.Three double hundreds an Amazing achievement. I am sure in the near future he will be the first one to get 300 agree or disagree,” tweeted Vinod Kambli.

Well, scoring a double ton in itself is a herculean task to overhaul. Hence, a triple ton would actually be a terrestrial effort, if and when any cricketer reaches the milestone. Having said that, there was a time when the cricket world believed that double century cannot be scored in ODIs. And here the fraternity stands now, with 7 international double tons in the format, and three belonging to Rohit ‘Hitman’ Sharma.
