As the world is going through a lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there’s pretty much nothing that everyone can do. It is been sort of boring time for sports enthusiasts as there haven’t been any matches for over a month now. However, cricketers are having a great time staying back at home.
Many top cricketers are using this time to talk to their fans via social media while others are having live chat sessions with fellow cricketers. So far several star cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, David Warner have been seen doing Instagram live chat sessions with their best mates on the field. However, Indian captain Virat Kohli has just dropped the news about an Instagram live session which each and every cricket lover has been waiting for some time.
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to go live on Instagram on April 24
On Thursday, Virat Kohli announced that he will be conducting an Instagram live session with ex-South African skipper AB de Villiers. Kohli dropped the news about this session on Instagram. Through his post, he informed the viewers the two batsmen will go live on the social media platform on Friday, April 24 at 6:30 PM IST.
Through the post, he revealed that the two players will talk about how to keep a positive mindset during tough situations, the current situation across the globe and the 2016 IPL season. The 2016 season was quite special for Royal Challengers Bangalore. After having an off start to the season, RCB bounced back by winning a lot of matches on the trot to enter the final.
Unfortunately, RCB lost the final against Sunrisers. However, it was a great season for both Kohli and De Villiers with the bat.
“Going live tomorrow at 630 pm, here on Instagram, with my friend AB. Watch us talk about keeping a positive mindset in tough times, current situation world over and THAT 2016 season and this special game in the green jersey. Also, there is a surprise from that game coming your way too. See you all tomorrow at 630 pm”, the caption of the post read.
The game which Kohli is referring to is the one against Gujarat Lions at Bangalore in 2016. RCB batted first and scored a mammoth 248 for 3 on the back of centuries by Kohli and De Villiers. Kohli scored 109 runs from 55 balls while De Villiers scored 129 runs off 52 balls.
The duo had a partnership of 229 runs for the third wicket, which still holds the record of the highest partnership in an IPL match. It also is the second-highest partnership in all T20s. Unfortunately, Lions didn’t get going at all during their innings and lost the match by 144 runs.
