Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma head to Haridwar on the eve of Kohli's birthday

Indian captain Virat Kohli, who has been rested from the T20I series against the Windies and in a short break will travel to Haridwar with his wife Anushka Sharma to spend his birthday in the Holy city. Virat landed at the Jolly Grant Airport from where the couple made their way to Narendra Nagar. As per reports, the couple will be staying in Haridwar till November 7th. Their plans also include a day of river-rafting and camping in Rishikesh.

Kohli, who is about to turn 30 is likely to visit the Anant Dham Atmaboth Ashram. The Ashram is headed by Maharaj Anant Baba, known to be Anushka’s family spiritual Guru. Local authorities have been cascaded of their visit and necessary arrangements have been made for their comfortable and peaceful stay throughout.

As per an IndiaToday report, Anushka visits the Ashram fairly frequently and seeks the blessings of her Guru before every auspicious occasion. She had visited the Ashram before their wedding and her Guru was also part of their wedding which took place in Italy in late 2017.

Kohli’s terrific run of form

The 29-year old was adjudged the man of the series in the recently concluded ODI series against the Windies wherein he scored 453 runs. The ODI series was won convincingly by the hosts by a 3-1 margin. The Test series was equally dominated by India, winning it by a 2-0 margin. In the victorious test series, Kohli was the third-highest run getter with 184 runs at a mind-boggling average of 92.

Virat along with this also currently heads the rankings in both ODI and Test cricket. The national captain, in this process also crossed the 10000-run mark in One-Day Internationals, being the fastest man to achieve the milestone, doing it 54 innings fewer than his idol, Sachin Tendulkar.

The Indian cricket team, after the conclusion of the T20I series against the Windies, will travel to Australia to play three T20Is, four Tests, and three ODIs, starting November 21.
