The Covid-19 pandemic has left India in a state of shock. The pandemic has not only taken away so many lives already, but it has also left the entire country in complete disarray. And, several sportsmen have come forward to support India in this crisis.
And, the latest name from the sporting world to have lent a helping hand to support India in its fight against Covid-19 is Indian skipper and batting icon, Virat Kohli. Kohli and his actor-wife Anushka Sharma have come forward and started a fundraiser to help the country in these tough times.
And now, Virat Kohli has posted a tweet where he has stated that he is overwhelmed after exceeding his target not just once, but twice. He also thanked everyone who donated to the noble cause. Kohli concluded by stating that the country will overcome the pandemic together. Kohli and Anushka Sharma have raised more than INR 11 Crores already.
“Words fall short to express how overwhelmed we feel to have exceeded our target not once, but twice, thanks to each one of you. To everyone who has donated, shared, & helped in any way, I want to say a big thank you. We are In This Together & we will overcome this together,” tweeted the Indian captain.

Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore occupies 3rd place at the time of IPL suspension
At the time of suspension of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side was occupying 3rd place in the points table. The Bangalore outfit had won 5 out of the 7 matches that they had played in the tournament and had accumulated 10 points.
On the batting front, Kohli scored 198 runs in the 14th edition of the IPL and scored them at an average of 33.00 and a strike rate of 121.47. Kohli is the most prolific run-scorer in IPL history and has amassed 6076 runs at an average of 37.97 in the tournament. The batting maestro has also scored 5 hundreds and 40 fifties in the IPL.
Kohli also holds the record for aggregating the most runs in a single IPL edition, when he smashed 973 runs during the 2016 edition of the IPL at an average of 81.08.
