Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, is currently in Australia where his team is playing a four-match Test series against Tim Paine and Co. They won the opening Test in Adelaide by 31 runs, after which they slumped to a defeat by 146 runs at the new Perth Stadium. However, the visiting team, under Virat’s leadership, won the third Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) by 137 runs.
The fourth and final encounter starts on Thursday, January 3 in Sydney and India would be looking to at least draw the match and clinch their maiden Test series’ on Australian soil. The 30-year-old Virat is also the second-highest run-scorer of the series with 259 runs, after Cheteshwar Pujara, at an average of 43.16 with his top score of 123 coming in the first innings of the second Test.

Kohli also had an incredible year in 2018. He is currently International Cricket Council’s (ICC) number-one ranked batsman in ODIs and T20Is. The Delhi-born cricketer ended the year as the leading run-scorer in Test cricket, having scored 1322 runs at an average of 55.08. The right-handed batsman was also 2018’s leading ODI run scorer with 1202 runs at an average of 133.55.
Amidst some hectic cricketing schedule, Virat has also managed to spend some quality time with wife Anushka Sharma. Yesterday night, the world was engrossed in the happiness of New Year’s celebration. The power-couple spent the auspicious occasion in Sydney and Virat posted a couple of adorable pictures with his better-half, whose movie Zero came out in December.
Virat also wished everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year. He captioned the pictures and wrote, “Happy New Year to everyone back home and all over the world, all the way from Australia. Have a wonderful year ahead God bless everyone,”
