On August 8, Sunday, Indian ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed the headlines as he announced his engagement with the Youtuber and Choreographer Dhanashree Verma. The couple shared the pictures from their engagement ceremony on their respective social media profiles and received a lot of wishes from all over the world.

Chahal captioned the pictures as, “We said “Yes” along with our families”. Both Chahal and Dhanashree can be seen donning traditional outfits for their engagement.

Chahal is quite active on social media and has been entertaining his fans throughout the lockdown. The cricketer posted a lot of hilarious TikTok videos, some featuring his families too. However, the spinner has been away from the short video app since the Indian government has banned 59 Chinese applications.

As soon as the news broke out, a plethora of Indian cricketers congratulated Chahal and Dhanashree on this new journey of their lives. Indian cricket team captain and good friend Virat Kohli was among the first ones to congratulate the couple.

Yuzvendra Chahal will brace the match field in IPL 2020

Yuzvendra Chahal was last seen in action during India tour of New Zealand in February this year before the BCCI suspended all the series and tournaments including IPL 2020 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to host the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) from September 19 to November 10 in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The tournament was supposed to start from March 29 but was postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The 30-year-old will be seen leading the IPL franchise Royal Challenger Bangalore’s bowling attack under the leadership of Virat Kohli. In his IPL career of 7 years, Chahal has featured in 84 matches taking 100 scalps while maintaining an economy of 7.78 and an average of 23.2.
