Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma spotted shopping in Cape Town; Twitter goes crazy

The Indian team has reached the rainbow nation and started off with their preparations for the all-important series against South Africa. With a woeful record in the country, the Men in Blue will aim to overturn their fortunes and register a win. The numero uno Test team will take on the second-ranked Proteas, in what promises to be a gruelling contest to establish their dominion.

However, just a few days prior to the start of the series, newlyweds Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma took some time out to go shopping. The Indian skipper was spotted with his wife Anushka going around the streets of Cape Town in South Africa and shopping. Kohli will return to action after opting out the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka for his wedding.

The duo got married in a secret ceremony in Italy on December 11 and announced their wedding through a post on Twitter. They then returned back to India and threw star-studded receptions for their cricket and Bollywood friends in Delhi and Mumbai. Anushka will return back home in January for the shooting of the next schedule of Aanand L. Rai’s untitled film.

India to head into the first test without a practice game

India will take on South Africa in 3 Tests, 6 ODIs, and 3 T20s, starting on January 5. The first Test of the tour is scheduled to be played in Cape Town.

Meanwhile, India will head into the first Test without playing a practice game in the South African conditions. Earlier in December, India’s two-day practice match at Eurolux Boland Park ahead of the series, was cancelled by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, to get the team acclimatized to South African conditions, the Men in Blue will have their practice sessions at Western Province Cricket Club.
