Virat Kohli has developed himself as a great brand not only in India but around the world. His social media presence, brand endorsement deals, and the way he has developed himself through cricket are seen in high regard by his fans. For the information, Kohli is the only celebrity on the list who is out of the film industry. In the same list, the second and third slots have gone to Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh. Out of the top ten most valued celebrities in the year 2020, only two slots have been bagged by females. Kohli’s brand value has remained the same while there is a drop in the brand value of other celebrities on the same list.

“While Kohli’s brand remained the same, the top 20 celebs lost 5 percent of their combined value to USD 1 billion in 2020,” said Duff and Phelps, which specializes in brand valuation, in a statement as quoted by The Indian Express.

Virat Kohli’s brand value didn’t drop despite the pandemic

Despite the staggering effects of COVID-19 throughout the world, Kohli’s brand value didn’t drop. The overall brand value of the top 20 celebrities in 2020 stands around USD 1 billion. It fell by 5 percent from the year 2019 due to pandemic effects. The study is done based on their product endorsement and social media presence, and the study evaluated the impact of the pandemic on both factors that are brand value rankings and celebrity endorsement space.

“These rising millennial celebrities were in greater demand during the pandemic owing to their popularity among the youth,” MD of Duff and Phelps said.

Talking about Virat Kohli, he is currently in Chennai and gearing up for India’s first Test against England, which will be played from February 5. It will be Kohli’s first Test outing in the year 2021 as he was on a paternity break during India’s last three Tests against Australia.
