Such has been Virat Kohli’s consistency with the bat that he creates or shatters records with every passing inning. His unprecedented consistency with the bat has made many back him to smash every major batting record. Just a couple of months ago, he broke Sachin Tendulkar‘s 16-year old record of fastest to 10,000 ODI runs. Kohli remarkably took 41 innings less than Tendulkar to achieve the feat. At present, the India skipper has slammed 38 tons in ODIs and need just 12 more to break Tendulkar’s all-time record.

And just like ODIs, Kohli is also well on his way to creating his own legacy in Tests too. The right-handed batsman scored a stunning ton in the second Test against Australia in Perth. He came to the crease when the team was reeling at 8 for 2 as both their openers back in the hut. But he dug in there and once again bailed them out of trouble by playing a fine knock and also got to a hundred in the process.

Before the latest knock of 123, Kohli had gone eight Test innings against Australia without reaching 50. It was a workman-like innings as he brought up three figures from 214 balls, the second slowest of his career behind the hundred he scored against England in Nagpur in 2012.

Kohli surpasses Sachin

With his latest ton, Kohli has broken yet another Tendulkar record. The 30-year-old is now the quickest Indian to reach 25 Test tons. He achieved the feat in 127 innings while Tendulkar had taken 130 innings for the same. The list is led by former Australia skipper and arguably the greatest batsman of all-time Sir Donald Bradman. The legendary batsman needed just 68 innings to score 25 centuries.

The top-five of the list also features another Indian in the form of legendary Sunil Gavaskar. Placed fourth in the list, Gavaskar scored his 25th Test ton in his 138th innings. Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden completes the top 5.

Here is the list of players quickest to 25 centuries in Test cricket:
