It was an enormous victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha 2019 elections. The Narendra Modi government won the vote of trust from a majority of India and will take charge for the second consecutive time. Thus, the Prime Minister was flooded with wishes including the one from Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

The 30-year-old, who is presently in London for the World Cup 2019, took it to the microblogging site Twitter to congratulate NaMo. Virat was one amongst the many celebrities to whom Modi appealed before the elections to inspire the fans to cast their vote. The cricketer responded to the request from PM and appealed the aficionadi to cast their vote responsibly. In fact, even he fulfilled his responsibility and cast his vote in Gurugram on May 12 along with his elder brother Vikas.

In his tweet, apart from congratulating Narendra Modi, Virat Kohli wrote that he believes India will reach greater heights with the vision of the 68-year-old. “Congratulations @narendramodi ji. We believe India is going to reach greater heights with your vision. Jai hind,” he wrote in his tweet.

The massive challenge ahead for Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is currently in the United Kingdom along with the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming World Cup 2019. This tournament is going to be a massive challenge for him. After a long while, he has struggled to maintain consistency in the recently concluded IPL. Being the backbone of the team, he has got a great responsibility on his shoulders to lead the side from the front.

His team is one of the strong favourites to lift the title in the tournament. India will begin its campaign with the warmup games against New Zealand and Bangladesh which will be played on May 25 and May 28 respectively. The actual campaign begins with the game against South Africa on June 5. This encounter will be played at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground. With most of the players in the team in good form, the team will look to put up an improved performance this time. Leading in a tournament like the World Cup for the first time, Virat Kohli has got to be on his toes at all times.
