Virat Kohli has had a very tough time in the Indian Premier League this year. While the top teams are competing for the ultimate glory in the tournament, Kohli has found some free time to relax. He is a self-admitted lover of cars. Recently, he was seen at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida. As per the reports in Times of India, Virat Kohli enjoyed his time with his Audi R8 sports car.
Reportedly, he even clocked speeds close to 280 kmph in his fun ride. Talking about his experience, he noted that in the past, he has clocked speeds as high as 290 kmph before as well. He failed to break his own record and would have loved to do so. Adding further, he spoke about how much in love he has been with the city of Delhi. He knows the routes in the city like any other localite.
“I have done 290 kms per hour here once before. But I sort of freak out. I cannot break at the last moment like the professional drivers do,” he quoted.
“I have grown up here, (and) I have played my cricket here. Also, my family is here. So of course, I do have a lot of memories. When I come back, I do relate to all the roads, especially the routes that I used to take in my childhood while traveling for cricket, or otherwise,” he added further.
However, spoke about the only concern that the city streets face in Delhi. The traffic is very much a pain but that does not bother him much. He loves to stay back at home whenever he is in the city. So, in a way, the tension of facing traffic comes as a blessing in disguise.
“The only thing is that the traffic here has become much more hectic over the years. I do like to step out in my car, and just enjoy myself, and listen to good music. I also like to spend a lot of time at home. When I come to Delhi, I am totally at home. I don’t like to step out at all,” conceded Virat Kohli.
For the social cause
On the social cause front, he hoped that the youth follow the street and traffic rules. That would help the cause of the city roads. Also, if the people do their individual bit, the society will benefit automatically.
“It’s a very important issue and I have been… urging people to drive safely, and not drinking and driving. They should follow safety rules. It’s quite disappointing to see people not follow rules. It disturbs you as a responsible citizen. Please remember that one mistake can really harm a lot of people,” concluded Kohli.
