Social media was thrown into a tizzy on December 11 (Monday) as the wedding pictures of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma found their way onto the internet. Fans can’t seem to get enough of the cute couple’s photos and videos of their wedding rituals. In terms of likes and re-tweets on micro-blogging platform, Twitter, it seems that Indian skipper, Virat is surging ahead of his life-partner.

Kohli and talented actor, Anushka had first met back in 2013 while shooting for a shampoo advert, from where their love story blossomed. The two got married in an intimate ceremony on Monday, far away from the prying eyes of the media in the picturesque vineyards of Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany, Italy. The wedding was attended by only close friends and family of the beautiful couple.

They posted a different picture each, captioned with the same heartwarming vows of being with each other forever. If Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were to have a playful comparison of the number of likes and retweets each of them received on their wedding pictures, captain Kohli would win the race by miles.

At the time of penning this article, the Twitter post of Kohli has received 492k likes, along with 87k re-tweets and 77k comments, while Sharma’s tweet has been liked by 364k individuals, accompanied by 57k re-tweets and 40k comments.

On Instagram, the graceful actor’s post received 3,097,541 likes while the swashbuckling cricketer’s post was liked 4,005, 037 times. While such trivial comparisons would be of no importance to the newly-wed couple, it’s indicative of the immense popularity that the couple enjoys amongst the masses.

Post their honeymoon, the couple will be throwing a reception for their relatives in New Delhi on December 21, followed by a gala reception in Mumbai on December 26, which will host eminent personalities from the Hindi film industry as well as the cricketing world.
