Indian skipper Virat Kohli boasts of a staggering fan base because of his abilities as a cricketer and also as a youth icon. From the kids to the adults everybody likes to watch the Delhi-born start to take the field. Not only the common but celebrities all around belong to the huge list of followers Kohli has. The latest addition to the list is Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera.

Speaking exclusively, Jayasekera mentioned that he is not only a fan of Virat Kohli but also an admirer of Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan. The Sri Lankan Sports Minister intends to take out time and be present at the SSC Stadium to catch a glimpse of both.

“I am a fan of Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. I love to see them batting and will spare some time to visit the ground” said Dayasiri Jayasekera.

He went on to say that he will visit the ground on the very first day if India opts to bat. He praised Virat Kohli and his men for their aggressive approach towards the game and their ability to take quick singles. Jayasekera hailed the visitors for their incredible fitness.

“If India bats first will come to the ground on the first day itself”. “I love their running between the wickets. Not only they bat aggressively and score runs with fours and sixes but steal singles and doubles beautifully. I salute their fitness”, the minister added.

Jayasekera was compared to a monkey by Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga who was charged for his disciplinary issues for the same. Malinga’s comments came after Jayasekara commented on the lack of fitness of the Sri Lankan players. However, Jayasekera said that lack of efficiency in fielding would not be tolerated from now on.

“You could have seen Malinga’s fielding and dropping of catches by the players. My fitness comments did not go well with them but will not tolerate these issues. The fittest player can hardly drop the catches but save runs”, he concluded.
