Indian captain Virat Kohli is adored by more or less all cricket-lovers. The ace batsman from Delhi never lets them down with his bat. But as we know cricket is a great leveller, there can be instances when even the best of the best can find things turning tough or unfavourable at least. Kohli has failed to get runs as he is known for in his last three innings and the fans have already started feeling restless.
After winning a historic Test series on the Australian soil, India are currently taking on the Kangaroos in the three-match ODI series and lost the very first game by 34 runs to concede 0-1 lead. The visitors now have to win the second match at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday to keep the series alive. The expectations after the Test series win were understandably sky high and the loss in the first ODI was a shocker for the supporters.
The low in the supporters’ mood was known when they failed to appreciate a picture that Kohli shared on social media showing him with his actress wife Anushka Sharma in Adelaide, unwinding. Compared to other times, the take was not as generous this time around.

Reactions came fast over the uncertainty that India face over winning the short ODI series and also over Kohli’s ‘poor form’ of scoring 26 runs in his last three outings – Tests and ODIs combined. India were deeply hurt in their chase of 289 runs against Australia in the first game at the SCG after losing three wickets for just four runs – one of which was of Kohli who managed three. It may be recalled here that Kohli had fallen for just four in the first T20I against Australia earlier in the tour but led from the front with a well-crafted 61 not out in the third game to level the series.
