India seal the series with a clinical show
The visitors who had given a neck and neck fight to the Indian team fell apart since the last two ODIs. Windies, in the first three matches of the series, had put on powerful batting performances due to which they had a real chance to win the series after they were blanked out in the Test series.
However, they were shot for a trivial score of 104 in the first innings which India gunned down in less than 15 overs. Rohit Sharma scored 63 off 56 balls and Virat Kohli scored 33 of 29 balls to remain unbeaten in the chase.
Virat Kohli has had an increasingly memorable in the concluded one-day series with the bat along with clinching the series. Having broken Sachin Tendulkar’s record of being the fastest batsman in ODI history to cross 10000 runs, achieving it 54 innings fewer than him, Kohli scored 453 runs in the series at a scintillating average of 151.
The 29-year old also bagged his seventh Man of the Series award, joining Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh, the list for which is topped by the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli is rested for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Windies after which India will travel to Australia.
