Earlier in the day, Australian captain won the toss and opted to bat first. they got off to a great start in their innings. Aaron Finch, who came back from injury built a great 2nd wicket partnership with captain Steve Smith to put Australia in a great position. Then wickets in the middle overs and tight bowling from the Indian pacers in the death ensured Australians were not able to cross the 300-run mark.
