Virat Kohli – the captain – loves to lead from the front for his team. He loves taking on the responsibility and has delivered for India time and again with the bat. He is very much passionate about the game and gets involved in the game from the word go. Even though his ability to win ICC tournaments have been questioned many times, Kohli, as a skipper, is rated highly by many.

And the latest to join the bandwagon is KL Rahul, the man who scored his maiden Test ton when Kohli was at the helm in Sydney. Rahul has flourished in his career since then and has played a lot under Virat’s captaincy. Predominantly, one of the best white-ball cricketers in India, KL Rahul is also vying for a Test spot again in the upcoming Test series against England.

Meanwhile, in an interview to Forbes India, he has lauded Virat Kohli for his exceptional energy on the field. He termed his captain as a passionate cricketer and also highlighted the way he infuses energy in the rest of the team as well.

“Playing with and under Virat Kohli, he is a different sort of captain. He is a very passionate individual. He operates at 200. 100 is the best you possibly can be at, but he operates at 200. He has the unbelievable ability to carry the other 10 guys and pull them from 100 to 200,” Rahul said.

KL Rahul gearing up for the England Tests

KL Rahul is currently enjoying a break in England ahead of the much-awaited five-match series against the hosts. He wasn’t included in the squad for the WTC Final but is being reportedly considered for a middle-order role for the upcoming Test series. He last played a Test way back in August 2019 and was dropped following a string of low scores in the format.

However, Rahul forced his way back in the side with strong and consistent performances, albeit in white-ball cricket. Having said that, he is in very good form at the moment and would love to resume his Test career in a fresh way if given an opportunity.
