Virat Kohli is a living example for every cricketer says BCCI president
Virat was recently named the ICC Test as well as ODI cricketer of the year.
Virat Kohli had a fantabulous year in 2017 and was rewarded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) recently. He did a fantastic job with his team but individually, it was a marvellous year for him. He was one of the leading run-scorers in all the three formats. The Indian cricket team skipper was also amongst the top three batsmen in the ICC rankings for all the three formats.
He was honoured for his excellence by the ICC. He was named the winner of the prestigious Sir Gary Sobers Trophy – the cricketer of the year award. The performance of every player was analyzed from September 21, 2016, to December 31st, 2017 and Virat came out on top in each format.
The Delhi boy scored 2023 runs in 18 Test matches with eight centuries and three half-centuries, 1818 runs in 31 ODIs with seven centuries and nine half-centuries. His T20Is stats were not at par as well having featured in 10 matches he added 299 runs at a strike rate of 152.55.
He was also named as the ODI Cricketer of the Year by the ICC. He became the first person on this planet to win the ODI Cricketer of the Year as well as the Sir Gary Sobers Trophy. Following the announcement, the Indian skipper was further glorified by the acting chief of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
We are all proud of Kohli – CK Khanna
The president of the BCCI showered a lot of praise on the 29-year-old. Khanna said that he is one of the best in the world and the whole nation is proud of his accomplishments. He also added that all the credit goes towards his fitness.
“Not only BCCI but the entire nation is proud of him. A lot of credits for this achievement goes to his fitness level and he is a living example for other cricketers to be as fit as him,” CK Khanna told ANI.
