Virat Kohli has made a name for himself as one of the greatest batsmen in current cricket. Already the best batsman when it comes to chasing a total down under pressure. Even Australia’s vice-captain David Warner acknowledged this in a recent interview.

Warner said, “Sachin waits to gets his rhythm. He then lunges forward and hits the gap between fielders while Virat likes to go from ball one and start his innings. Virat has this aggression about him.”

Warner who is currently playing in a new role in middle order, said that the T20I series that was recently played down under has been tha start for Indian team that they needed. India beat Australia 3-0 in the T20I series that didn’t featured either Warner or Smith, who were rested.

India were buoyed by the performances from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and the return of Yuvraj Singh to take the series even when the odds were difficult in the final T20I.

On being asked about Australia’s own T20 form, Warner admitted that they were still a bit shaky on the form side, despite a series win against South Africa. He said that the time spent by the Australian cricketers in the Indian Premier League will be what Australia bank upon.

Warner added, “Everyone has played in the Indian Premier League. We know the opposition we will come up against. We have to be switched on from ball one, we have to get adapted to these conditions and execute our skills very well.”

David Warner said that New Zealand have a very good chance of winning the tournament despite absence of Brendon McCullum. He said,” It’s a little bit of a gap there, a big gap with the experience, with getting off to a flyer. However, they have got big hitters like Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, Corey Anderson and Colin Munro.”

New Zealand will start the tournament against India on March 15, while Australia will begin their quest on 18th March against New Zealand.
