The captain of the Indian Cricket Team Virat Kohli turned 30 today and is celebrating his birthday with wife Anushka Sharma. The highly acclaimed Bollywood actress has special plans for her hubby, who has been hailed as the greatest cricketer of the modern era. Kohli is on the back of some astonishing records and a spree of runs. He recently stormed into a club of elite batsmen who have more than 10,000 ODI runs under the belt.
Not only did he become the 13th batsman to enter the 10K club, but he also became the fastest to reach the five-figure mark, getting there in just 205 innings, 54 fewer than the legend Sachin Tendulkar himself. However, the skipper has been rested from the Indian T20I team as his workload needs to be closely managed ahead of the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.
India are currently taking on the Windies in a 3-match T20I series, the first of which India won comfortably in Kolkata. This means the skipper has some time off from his busy schedule and has therefore made plans to spend some leisure time with his wife to celebrate his birthday.
The entire cricketing fraternity poured their wishes in on the maestro’s special day, but Wikipedia decided to have a bit of fun as it made some hilarious changes on Kohli’s page on their website.
Virat Kohli – a Gulliver on Earth?
Wikipedia turned the clock back in some ways, and changed Virat’s age to just 9 years, saying he was born on November 18, 2008. What was spectacular though was his height, as Kohli was turned into a Gulliver of sorts, towering over ‘Earthlings’ at 99ft 9 inches tall. The goof-ups didn’t stop there as it added that the Indian skipper is nicknamed ‘Viru’.
Meanwhile, reports suggest the star couple have flown to Dehradun in order to celebrate Virat’s special day. Anushka Sharma, who was part of the trailer launch for her upcoming film Zero, went straight to the airport after the event. She was sporting a while Gucci top with white track pants. Virat, on the other hand, went with a black t-shirt, black track pants and white shoes.
In the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian Cricket Team in the ongoing series. Kohli is all set to return to national colours for the 3-match T20I series against Australia which gets underway in mid-November.
