Virat Kohli is the best ever, believes Andrew Flintoff

Ever since Virat Kohli started accumulating runs at a rather haemorrhaging rate, the world has compared him with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. With 41 ODI centuries under his belt already, Virat is steadfastly nearing Sachin’s record 49 tons in the format. And at the rate with which the 30-year-old Virat is going, he may well become the all-time highest run-scorer in the format by the time he retires. Even in Test cricket, the Delhi-born batsman has as many as 25 centuries to his name. The right-hander still has quite a few years of cricket left ahead of him provided he keeps up to his incredible fitness levels. Meanwhile, Virat’s comparison with Sachin seems to be an everlasting one and recently Andrew Flintoff, the former England all-rounder, had an opinion about the dynamic Virat. Virat Kohli is a treat to watch Flintoff didn’t have any doubts in saying that Kohli is the best ever. “Honestly Virat is possibly the best player ever. Maybe even more than Sachin. I never thought I would see anyone that would compare to Sachin. I love watching him play. Hopefully, we will see best of him this summer, as he is a treat to watch for anyone,” Flintoff was quoted as saying in Bangalore Mirror. As far as Virat is concerned, he’ll be one of the keys for India in the 50-overs tournament. Team India is deemed as one of the favourites and one of the reasons behind the same is Virat himself. He has been unstoppable in white-ball cricket. The Men in Blue will start their campaign against the Proteas on Wednesday, June 5 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.
