Virat Kohli plundered runs by scoring three centuries in the recently concluded ODI series against South Africa which India won by 5-1. While the captain led from the front every time he took the field, it was the wrist-spinning duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav which wrecked havoc in the opposition camp. However, Kohli added yet another feather in his cap, this time as a fielder.

He completed the century of his catches in the ODI format by taking a couple to dismiss Heinrich Klaasen and Imran Tahir. The Indian captain is always desperate on the field and wants to set an example for his team. He is a top-class fielder and always wants to make the difference. He achieved the feat in the 208th One-Day International of his career. Also, he became only the seventh Indian cricketer to reach the landmark while on the field.

MS Dhoni tops the charts

There should be no surprise that MS Dhoni tops the charts as far as catches are concerned in the 50-over format. He is brilliant behind the stumps for the Men in Blue and his cricketing mind also helps Virat Kohli most of the times. Dhoni has taken 294 catches in 310 innings while donning the gloves for his country in the coloured clothing. The next player on the list is none other than Rahul Dravid who was known to take some brilliant catches in the slips and has 196 catches to his name in the format.

Suresh Raina was the sixth player to complete 100 catches in his ODI career and Kohli has equalled him now after playing 15 matches less compared to him. Sachin Tendulkar took 140 catches during his marathon 24-year career during which he played a staggering 463 ODIs. The former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin is the third cricketer on this list with 156 scalps while on the field. Nayan Mongia is the other wicket-keeper apart from Dhoni to reach the feat with 110 catches in 140 matches in his career.
