Amid the global crisis of coronavirus pandemic spreading its wrath, the world is under lockdown where people are spending their time in isolation. The life-threatening virus has taken the lives of over 1,45,000 people in the world so far. Talking about India, the country has witnessed over 13,000 positive cases and 452 deaths.
Considering the stern situation, the lockdown has been extended in India until May 3 and due to that, the much-awaited IPL 2020 has also landed into trouble. The possibility of IPL 2020 looks bleak after it was postponed to an indefinite period by the BCCI.
Amid such trying times, many prominent members of the sports fraternity have stepped up to contribute their bit in the pandemic. Many cricketers including Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have donated to aid in the battle against the pandemic.

Several cricketers have also posted heartfelt messages on the social media for the people who are working in the battle against COVID-19 outbreak. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Virat Kohli also extended support for releasing a video for frontline warriors who are risking their lives and helping the country to curb the effects of the pandemic.
“We salute all the frontline heroes and YOU for Playing Bold in the fight against COVID-19. Take social distancing seriously,” Kohli wrote on Twitter with a video from RCB.

Kohli, along with wife Anushka Sharma, had also donated to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to aid India’s battle against the coronavirus outbreak. However, the couple had chosen to not disclose the donated amount.
Kohli was set to lead RCB in the thirteenth edition of IPL. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, IPL 2020 might be pushed further to the latter part of the year. Many reports have suggested that IPL 2020 might be scheduled before the T20 World Cup 2020.
Virat Kohli-led RCB have never won the IPL trophy since the inception of the tournament. Kohli and his troops will be eager to clinch their maiden IPL title but for now, BCCI is monitoring the situation to decide the potential date for scheduling IPL 2020.
