Virat Kohli makes fun of veteran pacer Ashish Nehra

We have seen the Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s hot-headed side and at the same time we have witnessed the fun loving side of the cricketer. Kohli who has confessed his admiration for pacer Ashish Nehra earlier, was seen having a light moment with host Gaurav Kapur in the chat show’ Breakfast with Champions’. Nehra was recalled in the Indian side and at the age of 38, he is still going strong.

The pacer has been drafted in for the 3-match T20 series against Australia. The visitors had earlier lost the ODI series to India 1-4 and they will look to save some grace by taking the lone available trophy home. In the chat show, Kohli said that he was inspired by Nehra and that brought him in the show.

“I have come here only because I watched the previous (Ashish Nehra’s) episode,” Kohli said. He continued, “I was inspired by that…I didn’t feel like coming until I saw Nehraji’s episode. It was amazing! I have never watched an interview like this in my life. People don’t really know that he (Nehra) doesn’t try to be funny, but he is. That is what we love about him….But he is a good man. Ashu bhai is a class apart. Now we will meet him during the T20s,” he said.

Nehra was optimistic about his chances, he told ESPNcricinfo “I have had four surgeries in my ankle, plus my knee is always sore. But again, after half an hour so I say it to myself that I have to do it. I am the kind of person that if I decide [I’ll do] something, I have to do it,”.

“There’s no rocket science to this. You have to give 3-4 hours of the day to your body, definitely you will get the result. Some may get it later, but in the end, you will.” he added.
