‘Virat Kohli or Babar Azam?, IPL or PSL?' – Pakistan fast bowler Junaid Khan makes his picks in a rapid-fire round

Junaid Khan, the Pakistan fast bowler, came to the fore back in 2011 when the Asian team toured the West Indies. Ever since then, the southpaw has played in all three formats. However, he hasn’t quite been able to cement his place in the national team despite promising a whole lot. In 22 Tests, 76 ODIs and nine T20Is, the left-armer has picked up 71, 110 and eight wickets respectively.

He last played international cricket for Pakistan back in May 2019. Having last played Test and T20I cricket in 2015 and 2014 respectively, it can be said that Khan’s career in those formats is pretty much over. He has kept performing for his domestic teams though, picking up regular wickets. In the county’s first-class and List A domestic matches last year, Junaid turned up for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In the 2020 Pakistan Super League, Khan played for the Multan Sultans, then led by Shan Masood. The Sultans are presently captained by Mohammad Rizwan. Recently, Khan was involved in a rapid-fire round with Cricket Pakistan. During the interaction, he was asked 10 questions regarding Pakistan cricket, Indian cricket and a number of other topics as well.

Answer– At this point in time, both are outstanding.

4. Question– All-time favourite bowler?

Answer– Wasim Akram

5. Question– Best Pakistan bowler currently

Answer– Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali

6. Question– One cricket rule that you would like to change?

Answer– Earlier, in one day cricket, the old balls used to be given to us after 30-32 overs. That rule should be re-introduced because it helps us in getting reverse swing. There should only be one ball.

7. Question- Jasprit Bumrah or Pat Cummins, pick one?

Answer- Jasprit Bumrah

8. Question– Which league do you like?

Answer– PSL, being a Pakistani

9. Question– Favourite holiday destination?

Answer– I mostly like to roam around in Pakistan itself.

10. Question– Any unfulfilled wish?

Answer- I wanted Almighty Allah to give me a daughter. Rest all my wishes are fulfilled.
