‘Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma?’ – Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz makes his pick and many more in a rapid-fire round

Back in 2008, Wahab Riaz, the Pakistan fast bowler, was deemed to have a lot of potential to taste success at the highest level. However, in the next 13 years, the pacer hasn’t been able to cement his position in the team. The 35-year-old has been in and out of the Pakistan team way too many times.

He last played international cricket in December 2020 during the tour of New Zealand. In 2021, he wasn’t considered for the home and away series against South Africa, and for the tour of Zimbabwe. In 27 Tests, 91 ODIs and 36 T20Is, Wahab has picked up 83, 120 and 34 wickets respectively.

The southpaw is mostly known for his five-wicket haul in the 2011 World Cup against India at the PCA Stadium in Mohali and the fiery spell he bowled to Shane Watson in the 2015 edition of the mega event. To his sheer dismay, both the efforts came in losing causes.

With the bat, the right-hander is no mug, as he has notched three half-centuries with a top score of an unbeaten 54 against Zimbabwe back in 2015 at The Gabba in Brisbane. He is currently the skipper of the Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The speedster took over from Daren Sammy, who’s currently the head coach of the PSL franchise. Recently, he featured in a rapid-fire round conducted by Cricket Pakistan where he answered a number of interesting questions on various topics.
