Team India literally scraped through to the victory in the Asia Cup final against Bangladesh. They were made to earn every run by the opposition and a humdinger of a game went to the last ball. Eventually, the experience of playing big games more worked for the Men in Blue and they managed to get over the line. India did it without their regular skipper Virat Kohli and he is all praise of his team after the victory.

The real heroes for the team were Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja who stitched an all-important partnership of 45 runs off 56 balls and took India close to the finishing line. Though both of them were dismissed with still 11 runs to get, the lower-order and an injured Kedar Jadhav won it for the team sensationally to start the celebrations in the Indian camp.

Great job

Although Virat Kohli was rested for this tournament after a gruelling England tour, the captain had a keen eye on the proceedings and had lauded the team after a thumping win over Pakistan as well. After the tight final victory, the 29-year-old took to his official Twitter handle to laud the efforts of the team. He was overly delighted that they won the close match where one needs to show his character.

However, he was also effusive in praise of Bangladesh who made 222 runs count and had almost choked India in the chase. “Great job by the guys to win that tight game last night. @BCCI Seventh Asia Cup title for us Congrats to Bangladesh as well for giving a tough fight. @BCBtigers #AsiaCupFinal #AsiaCup2018Final,”he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Kohli is expected to return to the field for the two-match Test series against Windies which is all set to commence on October 4. The first game will be played in Rajkot and then the action will move to Hyderabad where the second and final Test match will take place.
