Virat Kohli raises his bat after entering Lord's Long Room
He has scored one run after facing 2 balls.
The second Test between India and England at the iconic Lord’s is witnessing a lot of rain as the play has been once again stopped due to the rain. The first day was washed out thanks to the persistent drizzle and a sunny morning welcomed both the teams on the second day but only 6.3 overs have been bowled so far with Team India losing both their openers after being invited to bat first. However, amidst the frustrating stoppage, Virat Kohli raised his bat hilariously to the applauding crowd in the Long Room at Lord’s.
After KL Rahul’s dismissal, the Indian captain walked out to bat as James Anderson was in the middle of a fine spell. Moreover, the overhead conditions and the moisture in the pitch was assisting him a lot. Kohli missed the first delivery straight away as the bowler had a wry smile looking at him and by the time he was ready to face the second ball, it had started raining. Soon the umpires stopped the play and it didn’t relent soon as early lunch was taken.
Kohli has fun
While walking back to the dressing room Virat Kohli had a friendly chat with Anderson and maybe it was about a couple of deliveries he faced. It was a long walk back for the unbeaten Indian duo as the gentleman crowd stood to applaud the players. Kohli might have found it funny as he just went out to bat and had to return soon.
However, after he entered the lounge room, the claps continued as after having a brief chat with Cheteshwar Pujara, he hilariously raised his bat which has left his fans in splits. It is a dream of every cricketer to get his name on the honours board at the Home of Cricket and Kohli might have just tried to get a feel of the same by raising his bat.
Coming back to the game, the play is about to start post lunch and the visitors will be looking to make a comeback by stitching partnerships in the middle.
