Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) could have a football superstar in their line-up during the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) if the recent exchange of tweets between their skipper Virat Kohli and England football team captain Harry Kane is anything to go by. Having interacted with each other on social media platform in the past, Kohli and Kane were at it again recently.
It all started after Kane decided to show the world his ability with the bat. One of the best strikers in the world at the moment, the Tottenham Hotspur star uploaded a video of himself on Twitter, playing a game of cricket with his teammates. Kane was enjoying indoor cricket with a tennis ball with his club teammates.
In the video, he could be seen playing some expressive shots. From playing the big shots to ducking against a bouncer, Kane showed that he was a handy cricketer. And he didn’t waste much time in showing the world his batting abilities. The England international shared a clip of his session on social media.
In his caption, he tagged Virat Kohli and boasted about his winning T20 knock before asking the RCB captain if there is a place for him in the team for the next IPL, writing: “Got a match winning T20 knock in me I reckon. Any places going for @RCBTweets in the @IPL next season @imVkohli??”
Kohli was quick to reply to his good friend. The India skipper started by praising Kane for his skills with the bat before saying that RCB could use him as a counter attacking batsman, writing: “Haha good skills mate. Maybe we can get you in as a counter attacking batsman.”

Another disappointing season for RCB
Virat Kohli and RCB could definitely do with Kane for the next IPL as they endured yet another disappointing season. The Kohli-led side failed to go all the way in the recently concluded season. The three-time finalists made it to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 but lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator.
Meanwhile, Kohli is currently in Australia for the bilateral series. On Friday, he failed to deliver with the bat as India lost the first ODI of the three-match series by 66 runs. Following the ODIs, both the teams will play three T20Is and four Tests.
