Virat Kohli reveals how his life has transformed since he met Anushka Sharma

Virat Kohli is arguably the greatest batsman in modern-day cricket as he has been piling on the runs and breaking past records almost every time he takes the field. It is very tough for any bowler to intimidate the right-handed batsman who perfectly understands his strengths, that of the bowler and shapes his game more in the head than with the bat.

Kohli has faced numerous bowlers in his career, with the two pace batteries Shoaib Akhtar and Mitchell Johnson among them. However, the right-handed batsman faced the greatest off-spinner of all-time Muttiah Muralitharan and was comparatively better against the offie.

In the show ‘Breakfast with Champions’, with host Gaurav Kapoor, Virat said that as a batsman, Akthar was a terrifying bowler. The next bowler who he was terrified facing was Pakistan‘s 7-footed Mohammed Irfan who troubled him very often.

2014 failure

He further talked about the bad patch that he got through in 2014 during the tour of England where he failed to hit the ball outside the off stump getting caught at the slips regularly. However, since then the batsman has changed his technique and technical stance taking lessons from the slump. The biggest concern for Kohli, however, was that people thought he failed because of his attitude and lifestyle and criticised him for that.

Lady Luck

Following this incident, the 28-year-old has cut himself off the social media, where people often talk ill about his life and often compare his performance with his lifestyle. Kohli further thanked his girlfriend Anushka Sharma for playing a vital role in his life, and with her, he has become a more sensible person.

It was Anushka, who gave him motivation and confidence and the batsman grew in stature. Zaheer Khan has also played a pivotal role in opening Virat up. ‘Anyone has any life problem, please speak with Zaheer Khan’ was the advice Kohli gave at the end of the show.
