Indian captain Virat Kohli has had the best foreign tour of the outgoing year in Australia – the third of the year. After finishing the second best in South Africa where India lost 1-2 and England where they were pummelled 1-4, India are now leading 2-1 against Australia Down Under after winning the third Test in Melbourne by 137 runs on Sunday. The New Year could see a historic first as Virat Kohli’s side is on the verge of winning India’s first-ever Test series in Australia in the history of a 71-year-old rivalry.
Kohli had a memorable first anniversary of his marriage with Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma on December 11 as it came just after India won the first Test in Adelaide by 31 runs. And now, after winning the crucial third Test in Melbourne, Kohli was found sharing a light moment with wife Anushka.
India will be taking on Australia in the final Test match in Sydney in the final Test starting January 3. The Indian captain, who is one of the two centurions the series has seen apart from Cheteshwar Pujara, tweeted a photo of him with Anushka on Sunday and it was liked by over 45,000 people.

Both Kohli and Anushka completed a decade in their careers in 2018
While Kohli completed a decade in international cricket in 2008, Anushka too reached a milestone earlier in December when her first film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ turned 10. Her latest film ‘Zero’ with Shah Rukh Khan, her co-actor in the first film, also got released this month.
She had taken time out of her busy schedule for promoting her latest film to go to Australia and spend time with Kohli on their first marriage anniversary. Kohli has not been in as superhuman form he was in South Africa or England in this tour Down Under and faced criticism over his on-field gestures in Perth but the Indian captain became the only second after Bishan Singh Bedi to lead India to two Test victories in Australia.
