Team India skipper, Virat Kohli, is a youth icon not only in India but across the globe. The stylish Indian cricketer never ceases to amaze on the field. He has been in a rampaging form across all the three formats of the game in the recent times. His spectacular run of form has now rubbed on to the team’s results as well. While he is always an inspiration on the field, his off the field work also continues to inspire many in multitudinous ways.

Virat Kohli has certainly matured a lot in the last few years. From being a brash youngster to being a man of wisdom, his journey has been inspiring. Recently, at the launch of his own brand One8, the Indian captain shared words of wisdom for the youth.

Kohli spoke on the importance of fitness. This was very much in relation to his brand, which is all about sports accessories. He mentioned that the youth today have been indulging in video games and prefer spending time on the social media. But for their own benefit, they should rather spend time playing an outdoor sport. Virat stressed on the importance of physical activities in one’s life.

Social media – a waste of time

He added that there is no harm in using social media, but one should know where to draw the line. As per the quotes in the republicworld, Kohli went on to cite social media as a waste of time.

“These days you see kids playing video games a lot more than outdoor sport. Physical activity is very important. And my message is not just for the youth, it is for everyone in our country. One should spend only limited time on social media rather being on it for a major part of the day, like what is happening nowadays. I too used to spend a lot of time on social media but now I have realised it is a waste of time. You can use your time in doing something much more productive,” quoted Virat Kohli.
