Virat Kohli’s last assignment as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain wasn’t a fruitful one as his side fell short of the title once again. The Bangalore-based side was phenomenal in the league-stage of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and many even backed them to get the glory this time around. However, a four-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in Eliminator saw RCB getting knocked out of the competition.

Bangalore’s ouster also saw the end of an era as Kohli won’t lead the franchise from the next season onwards. He had announced the same ahead of the UAE leg. Needless to mention, Kohli would have been gutted with the result as RCB were on the right track to get the glory. However, the talismanic batter doesn’t have a lot of time to think about IPL with the T20 World Cup 2021 being just around the corner.

Virat Kohli shows what being in bio-secure bubble feels like

Meanwhile, Kohli, alongside many Indian cricketers, has been in a bio-secure bubble for a while. On Friday (October 15), he took to Instagram and showcased how being in a restricted area takes a toll on a player. Kohli apparently shared a picture of him tied by a rope on a chair. “This is what playing in bubbles feels like,” Kohli captioned the post.

For the unversed, several major sporting events worldwide have been taking place inside the bio-secure bubble ever since the COVID-19 crisis came into the picture. As per the norms, players aren’t allowed to leave a particular area during the course of a series or tournament. Moreover, one isn’t even allowed to meet people outside the bubble.

Owing to these restrictions, several players have complained about mental fatigue. The same has also seen players pulling out of several major competitions. Punjab Kings batter Chris Gayle also pulled out of IPL midway in order to be fresh ahead of the global event. While Virat Kohli hasn’t withdrawn his same from any assignments, being in bio-bubble has been difficult for him as well.

Meanwhile, Kohli is set to stay in the bubble for some more time with the T20 World Cup starting in days’ time. Notably, the talismanic batter is also set to step down as India’s T20I captain after the competition. Hence, he would be raring to take his side to glory.
