Indian captain Virat Kohli has scored most international runs in a calendar year for the fourth year in a row. He scored 2455 runs across formats in 2019. He is the only batsman to possess a staggering average of 50+ in all three formats. Virat Kohli & his troops ended 2019 on a good note with a limited-overs series win over Kieron Pollard-led West Indies recently.

A few days ago, he was spotted spending some time off the field with his wife Anushka Sharma in the town of Gstaad in Switzerland. Kohli will soon take the field when India lock horns with Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series. India have already begun their preparations against Sri Lanka and the first match will be played on January 5, 2020, at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old Indian captain flaunted his new hairstyle done by fashion stylist Aalim Hakim on Thursday. There is no hiding from the fact that Kohli loves to pull off virtual hairstyles and beard styles. As soon as he posted the picture on Instagram, it spread like wildfire.

It seemed that India’s run-machine has ideally turned out to be Hakim’s first high-profile client of this new year and the leading hairstylist made sure that Virat Kohli looked good at the end of the session.

India will lock horns with Sri Lanka

The Men in Blue will also be looking to improve their rankings in the shortest format as they are currently placed fifth with 258 points from 39 matches. On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s ranking isn’t good either. They are ranked seventh in the ICC T20I rankings with 238 rating points from 27 matches. After the home assignment against Sri Lanka, India will play three-match ODI against Australia.

The first ODI is scheduled to be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on January 14. With the ICC World T20 tournament scheduled to take place this year later in October, India are expected to play as many 20-overs format games throughout the season. After Sri Lanka and Australia assignments, the Men in Blue will jet off to New Zealand to play 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs.
