The second T20 match of the ongoing series played between India and Sri Lanka saw a lot of balls being hit out of the park. And, one such hit from Shreyas Iyer, made Virat Kohli give a priceless reaction that was caught on the camera.
The match that was played at Holkar Stadium in Indore, saw team India sailing to victory after the bowlers packed Sri Lanka for 142 runs. The batting unit of team India fired to their full potential and made team India cross the target easily. The batting was led by Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli who scored 34 and 30 runs respectively. The openers, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul also scored 32 and 45 runs, getting the team to a good start.
The shot that got Virat Kohli to give the reaction that he did, came in off the delivery off Wanindu Hasaranga. It was during the sixteenth over when Iyer smashed Hasaranga’s ball over long on for a towering six. Kohli, in awe of the perfect timing of the shot, was left with his eyes wide open. Even Shreyas, who himself hit the shot took some time to register it and gave a similar reaction. The reactions of both the batsmen were recorded on camera and the video started doing rounds on social media. The fans reacted to the video in their own unique way.
3rd T20I to be played in Pune
With the first match, washed out, the series has become a two-match affair. To Virat’s relief, he struck out the possibility of losing the series and made it sure that the next match, if won will get him and the team the series win.
The third match of the series will be held in Pune on the 10th of January. It will be an important match for both the teams. On one hand, India will be looking to seal the series with their second consecutive win and on the other, Sri Lanka will be looking to win it and draw the series. It will be interesting to see if after the loss, whether Sri Lanka brings in the veteran all-rounder Angelo Mathews into the playing XI or not.
