Virat Kohli’s 2017
Virat’s 2017 can be summed up in one word; record-breaking. He has broken records that stood for over decades. He has scaled heights which were considered too high for cricketers of the modern era. Kohli has made batting look easy. Indian cricket circled around the big four for the last couple of decades but now it has only one person at the centre and that is this man.
Kohli surpassed Don Bradman and Brian Lara who had scored the most number of double centuries as captains. He achieved the feat when he scored four consecutive double centuries. His batting skills are just getting better and the result has earned him a comparison with the god of cricket himself. He scored 1059 runs in this calendar year at an average of 75 runs per inning.
His highest score in Test cricket this year was 243 against Sri Lanka. His One-Day International stats are even better, he has scored 1460 runs in 26 games. He averages a stupendous 76.84, his strike rate is almost 100 and the number of centuries is six.
He has also scored 7 half centuries and earned himself three Man of the Match awards and one Man of the Series award. To add to that, he recently got married to his long-time girlfriend as well, try comparing your 2017 to his.
