Virat Kohli spends quality time with wife Anushka after end of World Cup campaign

Geographically, it was a different set-up for Anushka Sharma when it came to the World Cup semi-final. In 2015, she was seen in the stands at the Sydney Cricket Ground cheering Team India and especially, her then partner Virat Kohli. In 2019, too, she was present on the ground to boost Kohli, now her husband, in yet another semi-final at Old Trafford, England. But on either occasion, the 31-year-old actor saw a gloomy ending much unlike her films as India went on to lose both semi-finals four years apart. Worse, Kohli got out for just one run in both games.
However, the duo did not forget to spend some time together after Team India crashed out of the tournament. The two even obliged their fans by clicking pictures with them and those were posted by their fan clubs on the social media. After a devastating loss against New Zealand as India went down fighting and lost by just 18 runs, the players found themselves stranded in England because of unavailability of tickets and they decided to spend the time with their dear ones.
Rohit Sharma, who hit five hundreds in the tournament, had already returned to Mumbai with his family. In one of the pictures, Kohli was seen sporting a dejected look which is understandable after the defeat. Anushka though was seen happily posing with the fans for pictures.

India played good cricket in the league stage – winning seven games and losing only one which was against hosts England. They even topped the league with 15 points, one more than the next best Australia. However, they fell in the knock-out stage losing to the Black
Anushka has been accompanying her husband on most tours, including the last year’s Test series Down Under when they also celebrated their first marriage anniversary. The ‘Zero’ actor reached England late in this World Cup because of the cricket board’s strict WAG rule but was unfortunate that her husband could not create history for India after eight years.
