They make one of the most successful couples in contemporary India. Cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma have been a highly followed duo for fans in their respective fields and endorse a lot of brands. However, there is no room for “competition” between the two, especially in aspects like fashion where both have their own brands.

The Indian captain was recently asked at the launch of his One8 brand called One8 Select whether if there is any creative exchange between him and Anushka at home. To this, Kohli replied that there was never such competition between them and that such thought doesn’t even occur to them ever. Anushka launched her own clothing line Nush in October last year.

‘Both of us are professionals’

“Whatever internally we talk about obviously, I am not going to publicly come out and tell people about our conversations but when it comes to the business side of things, both of us are professionals. There is absolutely no competition there at all,” Kohli, who recently turned 30, said.

“I don’t know how people get into these conclusions and get to think that these kind of conversations will happen. She is a professional and she is working here for so long. She is an established professional in her own career and she is one of the biggest celebrities in the country. She has her own vision and she obviously knows what she is doing so I don’t think there is ever room for things like that,” he added.

Both Kohli and Anushka made debut in their respective fields in 2008. While Kohli played his first international match against Sri Lanka in August that year, Anushka’s first film ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan was released in December.

Kohli had a terrific run with the bat in 2018 and also became the fastest batsman to complete 10,000 runs in ODIs in the recent series against the Windies. Kohli slammed three consecutive hundreds in the five-match series which India won 3-1. He has been rested for the T20I series following the one-dayers and will lead India in a tour of Australia starting November 21.
