Virat Kohli talks about an unknown trait of Rohit Sharma

The camaraderie between two of the finest limited-over batsman in the world by the names of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma is there for everyone to see. Whenever the two bat together, their hardly any sight more beautiful in world cricket.

Their records speak volumes for themselves as the two have been creeping up the ladder in the tally of runs headed by the golden pairs of batting in the form of Sachin-Sourav, Sachin-Sehwag, Hayden-Gilchrist and Sanga-Mahela. Batting together since 2010, they have already amassed as many as 3413 runs at an exceptional average of almost sixty with as many as 12-century and 4-double century stands.

Be it at Jaipur where India chased down a mammoth total of 360 against Australia or their stand against the same team at Perth, the two have been part of several memorable partnerships in the past. In the recent matches against Sri Lanka and New Zealand as well, the two struck brilliant double century partnerships which took the game away from their opposition in a blink of an eye.

The two have known each other since their junior cricketing days. One might have seen the spark of the dynamic duo of Indian batting very early in their career when a potent Australian attack toured India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2008. The two shocked a full-strength Australian team as they struck their respective tons while representing Board President’s XI.

Rohit Sharma- absent-minded in nature

A decade hence, the two know each other in and out, as it was clear in Virat’s recent cheeky interview with Gaurav Kapur on his talk show Breakfast with Champions. Kohli cited out that Rohit Sharma is very absent-minded in nature and has a habit of misplacing his stuff such as wallets, phones, keys and even his passport.

“The number of things Rohit Sharma forgets, I’ve never seen anyone else so forgetful. iPad, wallet, phone…not the small things, but daily use essentials…I don’t care, I’ll get a new one. he has no idea he’s left something, the bus would’ve travelled halfway to the hotel and then he remembers ‘Oh, I left my iPad on the plane’,” opened up Virat Kohli during his recent interview.

“He’s left his passport also a few times. It was really difficult retrieving it. The logistical manager always asks, ‘Does Rohit Sharma have all his stuff?’. Once he gets a yes from Rohit then only does the bus departs,” further added Kohli.
