The hopes of one billion Indians in a tournament played on home soil was carried by one man – Virat Kohli. The latter, as well documented by many, was perhaps the only batman wearing an Indian jersey to make a resounding impact on Team India. He amassed 273 runs in the tournament, boasting of half-centuries against Pakistan, Australia, and the West Indies.
However, his efforts in the match against the West Indies went in vain as the Windies and especially Lendl Simmons proved to be too strong a unit for the Indians. Kohli also made an impact with the ball in that match by picking up the important wicket of the well-set Johnson Charles to put the Indians back into the scheme of things momentarily.
The twitter and the Instagram account of Virat Kohli came to live a couple of day following the disappointing defeat. However, instead of reflecting and drowning in the negativity of the loss, the Indian Test skipper took the opportunity to thank the Indian fans who had come out in their numbers to support the Indian team. in addition, Kohli also mentioned that it was important to learn from the loss and work harder to set their mistakes.
“Thank You for a memorable tournament Thank You, everyone, for supporting us & cheering for us relentlessly,” Kohli tweeted

“We win some we lose some, but memories are something we take ahead with us, we move ahead learning from our mistakes and improve each day. Thanks for making it a memorable tournament together my brothers. And thank you each and every one of you people out there for supporting us relentlessly every day of the tournament. It was electrifying to experience your joys and happiness and energies throughout. We come out stronger and better next time,” Kohli posted.
