Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is going through some amazing run as the 29-year-old now holds 2nd spot in the ICC Test rankings. He is the world number 1 in both ODIs and T20 internationals as well. He is one of the most famous sports personalities going around in the world at the moment. He has over 21 million followers on social media micro-blogging platform Twitter.
He announced his marriage with girlfriend Anushka Sharma on Twitter on 11th of December and took the internet to storm. His popularity has grown leaps and bounds over the years as the right-handed batsman is breaking batting records one after another. Notably, Indian skipper Kohli is not only famous in India but also in the neighbouring country Pakistan.

Virat who averages 54 in all formats against Pakistan was the most searched cricketer in the country on Google according to Google Trends. From the period of December 18, 2016, to December 9, 2017, Kohli was searched on Google more than any of the current Pakistani cricketers including Champions Trophy-winning skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and pacer Mohammad Amir.
Kohli who got married in a private ceremony in Italy’s Milan city on 11th of December will return to the Indian side for the tour of South Africa. Former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi earlier had congratulated Indian skipper for the wedding and the Indian skipper thanked him on the Twitter. The players from both the countries have often mentioned that their rivalry is only on the cricketing pitch and not off it.
The BCCI recently announced their FTP for the year 2019-2013 and they confirmed that they are not playing any bi-lateral series with Pakistan. While the BCCI and PCB are on continuous tussle as the cricketing ties between the two boards doesn’t seem to be getting any better anytime soon, it is great to know the fans are not bothered by it.
