Virat Kohli to get his own Wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Delhi

The Virat Kohli journey from a U-19 winning captain to be on road to become India’s most successful captain has been just phenomenal. It is his determination and the passion towards the game that certainly makes him a hero for more than 1.25 billion Indians. In his road to fame, the 29-year old has managed many honors such as ICC Cricketer of the year, Arjuna Award, Padma Shri and many more to fill in the cabinet for the Modern Master.

In one of his latest accolades as a mark of appreciation, his wax statue will be inducted into Madame Tussauds Delhi. The Indian captain becomes the 23rd renowned personality to join the elite list of sportsperson and celebrities from Bollywood and Hollywood. Kohli‘s wax figure will join other sports heroes including Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, and Lionel Messi.

Met with the Madame Tussauds’ team

In order to mold a statue for Virat as one of the recent addition to the Madame Tussauds collection, Kohli met with Madame Tussauds’ team for the sitting process, where a group of talented world-renowned artists flown in from London took over 200 measurements to create an authentic figure. Kohli, who will be busy for the span of next two months due to a long and grueling IPL season, felt ecstatic to be chosen alongside some of the great sporting icons across the globe as one of the figures of the historic collection.

The cricketer with his utmost modesty thanked the entire team at Madame Tussauds who was extremely patient with him in carrying out more than 200 measurements before carving the wax figure for such a huge global personality. All thanks to the Madame Tussauds team who were extremely patient during the sitting sessions and for giving me a lifetime memory”.
