Indian batting star Virat Kohli, Tennis ace Sania Mirza and champion badminton player Saina Nehwal are the top names from India to make it into the Forbes inaugural list of top “promising young leaders and game changers” under the age of 30 in Asia. Former national level player, Arunima Sinha, who also happens to be the first Indian amputee to climb the Mount Everest is the only other Indian sportsperson apart from the trio who are on this list.

In all, four Indian athletes feature in the in the list alongside some of the rapidly rising names of Asia in the field of arts and sports. The Forbes ’30 under 30 Asia’ list includes 300 “young and driven entrepreneurs and game-changers” from countries including India, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam and Australia who are contributing to their industries in a significant way.

Apparently, Virat Kohli is the only cricketer to feature on this list. He has been well-praised by the apex business magazine Forbes, describing him as the ‘Batting Prince in the Indian Cricket Culture.’ The Indian Test skipper, no doubt deserves this appreciation for his tremendous achievement at a young age. Kohli according to the FORBES list was India’s highest-earning celebrity in 2015 at $11.3 million. He was also named as the second most marketable athlete in the world behind British World Formula one driver Lewis Hamilton by UK magazine Sports Pro.

With 10 categories in total, the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list highlights inspiring young leaders in various fields covering consumer technology, enterprise technology, arts, healthcare and science, media, social entrepreneurship, finance, industry and retail.
