ICC announce latest ODI player rankings
Here are the latest ICC ODI batting, bowling and all-rounder rankings.
Virat Kohli continued to ascertain his world dominance when it comes to limited over format as he tops the chart in the ICC ODI Rankings as well. In the recent release of T20I rankings, it was Kohli again who retained his Numero Uno status. Virat is followed by Australia’s David Warner who is placed at number 2 and his RCB teammate AB de Villiers at number 3. Joe Root of England and Pakistan’s Babar Azam are placed at four and five respectively.
Virat Kohli had a brilliant tour of the West Indies after a successful campaign in the recently concluded Champions Trophy. However, before the start of fifth one-dayer in Jamaica, Kohli found himself in an unusual streak of not scoring a century in coloured clothing, In fact, the last time he scored a ton in ODIs was against England in Pune. However, he broke the streak in the fifth ODI, as he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of tons in run chases in almost half the innings he played.

Previously, Virat Kohli was placed at the number fifth spot and was 22 points behind AB de Villiers who topped the charts to ascertain his world dominance in coloured clothing. Mahendra Singh Dhoni jumped three places to take the 12th position. Coming to the bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the two Indians who are in the Top 20. None of the Indian bowlers could break into the top 10.

In the Test rankings, apart from Virat Kohli, the other Indian in the Top 10 is KL Rahul, who is currently recovering from his shoulder injury. Indian spin twin, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, are comfortably placed as the top two bowlers in Test according to the latest rankings. India’s number 3 and number 4 batsmen, Chateshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli, hold the fourth and fifth position in the table.
