Team India skipper Virat Kohli needs no introduction in world cricket now. He has started to script his own legacy with the golden ink at the biggest stage. His personal performances have now combined up with team’s herculean run in all the three formats of the game. He has translated his good run of form to reflect on the team’s winning attitude too.
It will not be wrong to say that a lot of credit for India’s recent resurgence in world cricket goes to Virat Kohli. He has led by example and the players absolutely revere him. While his activities on the field often fetched him words of praise and a lot of adulation, his actions off the field have started to win the hearts of the fans now. Kohli recently came in support of underfire former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.
A lot of critics had been questioning the position of Dhoni in the Indian team. They believed that Dhoni should hang his boots from the shortest format of the game. All of this perspired after India’s defeat in the Rajkot T20I. Virat Kohli rightly cited that it is absolutely unfair to target only one man who has been giving his all to the Indian team. Kohli’s conference was pure gold and won many hearts.
In another incidence that earned him a lot of praise, Virat was seen handing over the winning trophy to youngster Mohammad Siraj in the post match press conference. Kohli has always been in support of the youngsters and his actions reflected what he preaches. When he was handed over the winning trophy of the T20I series against New Zealand, Virat Kohli was quick to hand it over to youngster Siraj as the other team members joined the celebration. Also at the center was Shreyas Iyer, another youngster, who had earned his maiden call up in this series.
