Virat Kohli wishes Usain Bolt ahead of his final race
Kohli mentioned that he would miss seeing Bolt on the tracks.
Legendary Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is all set to walk into the sunset. In a career spanning more than a decade, Bolt has innumerable records to his name. He has announced that he will retire after the IAAF World Championships in London. Known as the fastest human in the world, Bolt will retire with 8 world titles besides 8 Olympic gold medals.
Bolt has keen interest in cricket
The Championship is set to begin on Friday and Bolt remains confident of yet another title win. The Jamaican has a keen interest in cricket, a sport he played as a kid. He has also played an exhibition match in 2014, a game which also saw Yuvraj Singh participating. Bolt has the distinction of getting Gayle bowled once in a friendly match.
Virat Kohli, who has been a huge admirer of Bolt, posted a video to wish Bolt luck for his finals race. Both athletes are contracted with Puma through which they have known each other. Kohli is busy playing a Test series in Sri Lanka these days.
“Doesn’t matter if it’s your last competitive race, you will always be #ForeverFastest on and off the track @usainbolt. @PumaCricket,” Kohli wrote as the caption for this video.
Bolt holds the world record for 100 as well as 200 meters since fully automatic time became mandatory. The Jamaican has the distinction completing a 100-metre race in a record 9.58 seconds. This year, though, the sprinter’s fastest 100 meters has been 9.95. For all the accolades he has won over the years, Bolt would be keen to finish off on a high.
Kohli & Co on a roll in Sri Lanka
Kohli’s men won the Galle Test without being challenged. The 304-run win is a testimony to the quality of cricket India has played over the last one year. With this kind of start, the No. 1 Test team in the world will be looking for a clean sweep in the 3-match series.
