Virender Sehwag excited to play alongside Mohammad Amir in T10 league
He was excited to make his comeback on the cricket field.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is eager to play with Mohammad Amir in the upcoming T10 Cricket League in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The inaugural edition of the tournament is all set to commence on December 14. Sehwag is the captain of Maratha Arabians side and was also the icon player for the franchise. However, Amir is also part of the side and in which the T20 superstars like Dwayne Bravo, Kamran Akmal and Lendl Simmons.
The six teams Arabians, Kerala Kinga, Pakhtoons, Punjabi Legends, Colombo Lions and Bengal Tigers will battle for the next four days now to achieve the ultimate glory. These teams are divided into two groups as each side will play against the two other sides only once to make it to the knockout stages. It would be interesting to see the way the competition pans out as it is the first of its kind and a lot of legendary cricketers are taking part in it
I want to see Amir bowling
Virender Sehwag, who is in UAE, admitted that he is excited to return to cricket again alongside the younger crop of group comparatively while speaking to the local media. “I am pretty excited to return to cricket, but there are cricketers who I want to see including Bravo, Simmons, Rilee Rossouw and Kamran Akmal. Furthermore, I want to see Amir bowling in particular, to see what he thinks and plans while bowling,” he said.
The cricketer turned commentator also believed that a team needs a proper balance of specialist batsmen and the bowlers in such shorter formats. Maratha Arabians are all set to lock horns against Pakhtoons led by Shahid Afridi in the second match of the day. The tournament will commence with the game between Bengal Tigers and Kerala Kings under the leadership of Sarfraz Ahmed and Eoin Morgan respectively.
